Memories of fulfillment come to mind when I think of creating art as a child. I remember feeling content and excited all at once, knowing that my art had a positive effect on me. Even today, my art provides gratification and balance. Bringing creative experiences to others is a major part of my life.
Helping people who may have trepidation about their creativity initially, but then become comfortable making art, is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a teaching artist. Innovative programs that I provide for the workplace and individuals enhance focus and build self-awareness. The liberating effects of self-expression through the creative process can actually expand production, offering a stress relieving outlet. Creative exchanges strengthen unity among participants and inspire a continuous exploration of new ideas.
My personal art is always influenced by my interactions with students, colleagues and the people closest to me. Nature and my Textile Design background are constant inspirations in my creative works. My individual and commercial commissions are representations of my clients’ desires and objectives. Through my business, Mainstream Creative, I strive to promote the therapeutic benefits of self-expression and the importance of social creativity.
